The second video is a complete video of the sinus lift procedure. Here you should note the way the window is made, the sinus membrane pushed up and the area filled with bone graft material. Then a implant is also placed in the adjacent site before the area is closed and the flap sutured.

One Piece Unibody Implant- Video

Here is a very nice video of Zimmer Unibody Implant placement and the prosthetic work with it. Dr Maurice Salama dose a wonderful work with least amount of hemorrhage, trauma or discomfort to the patient during the implant placement.A nice and clean video.

Flapless Implant Procedure

Here is a video of a flapless implant placement. This technique is most commonly used in placement of mini implants like IMTECH or MILO type of implants. Flapless implant placement needs more experience and properly prepared stents to guide the implants in the planned direction. since there is limited visibility of the implant direction in this case care should be taken to see that the implant is not lingually or bucally directed and avoid perforation of the cortical plates.
This video dose not have clear commentary and the sounds of instrumentation at times is quite loud. It is a nice video if you want to watch the procedure.

IMTEC acquired by 3M- Interesting times for Mini Implant.

IMTEC Corp. is a well known name to those who know about mini implants. Yesterday 3M company acquired IMTEC Corp. IMTEC Corp has been the leading manufacturer of dental implants and cone beam computed tomography scanning equipment. The mini implants produced by Imtech is small diameter, single unit implants which do not need invasive surgery.

This is what IMTEC had to say

Another press release quote IMTEC as "This acquisition does not impact our commitment to continue to work with you in serving the dental market and exploring ways to strengthen our relations. It does not affect any other aspect of our current business with you."

The combination of two big companies now entering into the dental implant field makes it more interesting and all eyes will be on them to see how the mini implant market will be affected. Its interesting times in field of mini implants.
