This bacterium may also be the reason why you sense a smell from your mouth in when you wake up in the morning.  Another reason is due to the mouth drying out during the night when you are sleeping.  This allows the bacteria time to work on the food remaining in your mouth. During daytime it is necessary to keep the mouth wet or moist whole time as this will wash the bacteria away.  It is necessary to get rid of bacteria by brushing your teeth at least for five minutes, flossing and scraping tongue.
